Finding the perfect hair product whether it be mousse, gel, shampoo, hairspray, etc may seem never ending; I get that, and I couldn't agree more. As a stylist I'm constantly on the lookout for the best products out there, and if we're being honest, what might work great for one person, doesn't always pan out for the next. That being said, today I would like to share with you some of my thoughts and reviews on three strong hold hairsprays I'm currently enjoying!
First up S Factor Vivacious hairspray
I will be the first to admit that when I hear the brand TiGi I cringe. I am not a fan of their products in general, most are simply overbearing in fragrance with outrageous packaging and names while lacking in performance. Anyways, I went to the store the other day to pick up a few products and while checking out the lady told me that hairspray was on sale this month so I figured I might as well check it out! As my dad always says, "Can't afford not to buy it." So I walked away with the S factor hairspray. S factor is TiGi's top of the line, and I would have to agree. Surprisingly I am really enjoying this hairspray. It is a firm hold but not too heaving on the hair. My hair stays in place all day long at work, after only applying in the morning. It is heavily fragranced of a strawberry scent, which for me doesn't bother me at all because I love a good fruity scent, especially in the summer! I have even been loving using this to scrunch my day two hair for a subtle beachy wave since it doesn't leave the hair sticky or with a residue, just a fabulous lightweight firm hold. Who would have thought that would be possible?
Moving on lets discuss Kevin Murphy's Session Spray.

Moving on lets discuss Kevin Murphy's Session Spray.
I have loved this hairspray for years now! It is a very firm hold hairspray with a pleasant scent that is not overwhelming by any means. If I could choose one brand for styling products I would go with Kevin Murphy. He produces some of the most amazing texturizing products that are perfect for editorial or everyday. Session spray will hold the hair to the extreme, so if you are looking for a bounce to the hair you will want to stay away. I love using this hairspray when I am teasing. I will lift each section of hair, spray a light mist at the root and then using my boar bristly round brush (I love the Ibiza brushes) I will gently back comb each section two to three times then smooth out the top. This hairpray will keep the hair teased all day long! If using it as an allover spray, use a light mist and then taking a wide tooth comb brush the hair. This hairspray is meant to be a shine spray as well without leaving the hair greasy, best of both world's right?!
Last but not least is Be Yourself Mist Spray by Framesi.

I purchased this one when they were on sale along with the S Factor. I have yet to try this particular one, so I personally can't give a fair review but I will the second I try it! After reading reviews online everyone seems to be highly satisfied saying that even in humidity this hairspray holds strong! I grabbed the lightweight spray as well and have really been enjoying that one. It doesn't leave the hair sticky whatsoever and there is little smell to if any for those who might be sensitive! I am anxious to try this one out but I best be using my others first!!
Like I said in the beginning, being a product junkie I have tried numerous other sprays as well! The infamous TiGi bedhead, ick, too firm of a hold and very sticky! The same can be said for Schwarzkopf Freeze spray. Big Sexy, cult favorite, but in my opinion weighs the hair down and is once again too sticky for my liking, not to mention the can is so huge it can be hard to maneuver! Davines makes a firm hold spray, but in my opinion it is more of a medium to lightweight. Kenra has two different ones, one in their regular line (heavy, and leaves the hair in string clumps) and one in their platinum line (I prefer this one more, but I love the hairsprays mentioned above more). Kerastase is making it's move over here in the states from Europe, and if I'm being honest, I am not overly impressed with their products and the pricing is outrageous! Their firm hold hairspray isn't anything to call home about as they say.
Anyways, I hope these reviews help out next time you're out and about trying to find that perfect firm hold hairspray! Please comment below with any questions! I hope you all have a fabulous day!
