Hello beautiful! Summer is fast approaching, or in my case it's pretty much already here, and I wanted to share with you some tips and tricks for making sure your skin stays smooth and hydrated! All of the items discussed are household items typically found in the kitchen, who doesn't like that?
1) Cornmeal with a dash of water
How simple is that? Mix the two ingredients together, the water helps to make the cornmeal slightly "sticky". You can use this recipe for any areas on the body, my favorite place to use it is on my face because the ingredients are so simple and won't clog your pores! I will warn that it is slightly abrasive so take caution in massaging it aggressively. It is also perfect to use on chicken skin, those horrible little bumps that can be found on the tricep area. Those bumps are caused by dead skin clogging the pores so exfoliating and moisturizing with your favorite skincare product religiously will have those triceps smooth as butter in no time!!!!

2) Brown sugar, honey, and olive oil
For this simple concoction use about 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1tsp honey, and 1tbsp olive oil. Mix to a paste like consistency. This recipe is great because it not only helps to exfoliate but moisturizers at the same time and leaves your skin smelling sweet! (Might be a good idea to stay away from areas with bees after using this, just a suggestion) If your skin is sensitive this exfoliant will be your best choice because the sugar is not nearly as abrasive as the cornmeal can be. I love using this scrub to exfoliate my legs and arms; they tend to get dry and this is a two in one scrub since it has the mositurizing aspect as well as exfoliating! This scrub can also be used on your lips! Just gently rub in a circular motion and your kisser will be flawless and ready for gloss!!!

Exfoliating is not only fantastic for sloughing away the dead skin but can also help with fine lines and wrinkles. That being said, DO NOT rub aggressively on your face thinking your wrinkles will vanish!! That will simply cause redness as well as a sore face, and no one wants that! Hope you enjoy these recipes and don't forget to moisturize every time after you exfoliate!! Please feel free to comment below with any questions you might have as well as your favorite DIY scrubs!! Thanks so much for stopping by till next time!!!
Xoxo,
